The Fuse program offers students attending eight local state colleges, including Hillsborough Community College and St. Petersburg College, guaranteed admission to the University of South Florida upon completion of an associate degree and other requirements.
Students enrolled in the Fuse program are placed on a “graduation pathway plan” to ensure that the courses they’re taking will apply to their associate degree and transfer towards a USF bachelor’s degree. Additional support like academic advising and social activities helps Fuse students stay on track and meet all requirements to earn a degree in a timely manner.
Through the Fuse scholarship program, qualified Fuse program students can receive up to $5,500 to assist in completing their degrees.
In order to receive a Fuse scholarship, a student must have proof of financial need and successfully complete a minimum of 20 credit hours during the first year of enrollment in the program. There is no separate application, but students must complete the FAFSA to determine eligibility.
The Fuse Scholarship was founded in November 2017 by generous gifts from USAmeriBank Foundation and Helios Education Foundation.
“As a funding partner, the USAB Foundation is proud to join this meaningful collaboration focused on postsecondary success and workforce development. Helping to fund these scholarships is a perfect way to make a lasting impact in helping more students go from earning their associate degrees to earning four-year degrees.”
